American Evaluation Association - National Conference
October 24-29, 7:00am-8:30pm

The national conference for AEA is being held in Atlanta this fall! There are 40 workshops and more than 800 sessions about Program Design, Evaluation Design, and Information Design. Early bird registration ends October 3. Pricing ranges from half-day workshops at $100 or less to special 2-day workshops at $480. Details and registration.

 

Central Park 5: Film Screening & Discussion
Wednesday, October 26, 5:30pm-9:00pm

Atlanta City Council President Ceasar Mitchell will present a free screening of The Central Park Five, courtesy of Florentine Films. Following the screening will be a Q&A session with Yusef Salaam and Raymond Santana, members of the Central Park Five, and the production crew. The Central Park Five is a 2012 documentary about the wrongful conviction of five young African American men for the rape of a jogger in New York City's Central Park. The case occurred in 1989, and the men were exonerated by DNA evidence years later. Event is free but registration is required

 

GCN Course: Evaluating ROI of Fundraising Programs
Thursday, November 3, 9:00am-3:00pm

Fundraising metrics should be determined by your unique resource development plan and the validation you need to improve your fundraising performance. This may include measuring the outcomes of your fundraising strategies like direct mail, special events, and major gifts programs. Learn how to use Mission/Money Matrix to assess the profitability of fundraising programs, and much more. The class is $150 for GCN Member org and $175 for non-members. Details and Registration

 

JCI Young Professional Networking Event 
Thursday, November 3, 6:30pm-8:30pm 

JCI Atlanta (Jaycees) is an organization of young professionals that provides a wide range of activities. Their Members participate in community involvement, business networking, leadership development, social events, and educational workshops. This event is $10 for non-members. Details and Registration. 

 

Grant Professionals Association - National Conference
November 9-12, 9:00am-3:30pm

The national conference for GPA is being held in Atlanta! This is the largest gathering for grant writing in the country. Early bird registration ends July 31. It's $495 for GPA members, $395 for students. Details and registration.

 

Coach-A-Thon Day: Free Hour of Professional Coaching [Event is Full]
Thursday, November 10, 8:00am-7:00pm

The International Coach Federation Georgia Chapter (ICF-GA) is offering a day of complimentary telephone coaching to Atlanta’s nonprofit leaders. Sign up for a 1-hour time slot and you will be assigned a Coach. Coaching takes place over the phone - it's very simple! The registration deadline is October 21st, but it will likely fill up before then. Facing Race - A National Conference
November 10-12, all weekend

This Conference is presented by Race Forward: The Center for Racial Justice Innovation. A unique collaborative space for racial justice movement making, Facing Race is the largest multiracial, inter-generational gathering for organizers, educators, creatives and other leaders. Facing Race offers local community unprecedented access to information and resources on racial equity, includes over 50 workshops and access to over 140 presenters. Network Under 40: at the Atlanta Botanical Garden
Thursday, November 17, 6:00pm-9:00pm

Network Under 40 hosts monthly social events for young professionals. Their events regularly sell out, so register now! Tickets are $10-$25. Details and registration.

 

Conference on Diverse Philanthropy and Leadership
April 19-21, all weekend

Council for Advancement and Support of Education (CASE) and the African American Development Officers Network (AADO) will conduct the fifth conference on diverse philanthropy and leadership to meet the great demand for professional development at all levels of advancement, not only in the area of diverse leadership, but also in understanding philanthropic diversity. Details and call for sessions here.
